Given that I was born in 1993, I was able to witness the journey of software products in human life. I am talking about coming from the days of sending multimedia messages was ground breaking news to the days of facetiming with your favorite K-pop band on the background while you are ordering the snacks that your mom kept you away from all those years.

In the hinterland of countless tech changes we experience daily, there is an ocean of opportunities, developments and gateways that open to forests of technology fruits that await to be explored. Also the number of people who pick those fruits for themselves and for their families is massive. I believe this fact alone makes it worth to advance.

The manner of the work in software development is unbiased. The work requires a methodology for a goal or a problem that you approach with numbers and logic. The discrimination we see in almost any other industry about gender, race, national origin and age can not (should not) apply when it comes down to doing the actual labor of software development. Because the compiler does not know any of these ugly notions. It is a machine who is evaluating your work.

Time goes faster. The things we can fit in a day are numerous and increasing. Thankfully, adapting is in human nature and in this adapting process the things that used to be a norm are optionals or vanishing now. Commuting can be given as an example. Especially during this COVID times, people realized that remote work has become considerable for employers and employees alike. Software developing is one of the jobs that started taking advantage of working remotely long time ago. Being able to access your office anytime from anywhere is a big plus in terms of adapting to this new high speed life style.

As a conclusion, the journey of software development that takes place in every aspect of technology which has crucial importance in almost every one of our lives is not ending anytime soon. In fact, seeing how far it can reach in my lifetime is a huge motivator and evokes curiosity of what is next. Revolutions has been made, the great war has already happened and in my opinion, what makes history right now is technology. Considering the reasons I gave here, I passionately want to be a part of it. So here, I am at my desk with my computer, looking out the window, seeing endless fruits to pick up and no one to hold me back — sounds like a great reason to be software developer.
